The second you walk in, you just see a spacious and really impressive layout not typical for a Chinese restaurant. Service was top notch. Food was delicious. We ordered dumplings, Peking duck (get 3 pocket for 2 people. We ordered 5 pocket and couldn't finish it). We also got kung pao and calamari. Best calamari I've ever had. Finished it off with black tea tiramisu. Absolutely perfect. Ask for the beer with notes of ginger.

It's my favorite Chinese fusion restaurant. Everything is delicious. All the dishes look beautiful, like rainbow to my eyes Love the decorations, it's old & new mix together. Look modern but also nalstalgic. Service is awesome, all the staff is attentive & friendly. Remember to go upstairs to check out the super fancy "Cold Drink Bar", it's glamorous and drinks are top-notch.

Bellissima esperienza nel cuore di San Francisco: locale vibrante, divertente con concetto innovativo (mercato e ristorazione fusi in un unico luogo) con cucine a vista. Mangiato alla grande

Stupidly overpriced food and an uninviting awkward setting are my memories from eating here. I would also say the service is mediocre and frustrating. Food is of decent quality but not awe inspiring and certainly not worth the price. Would recommend Great China in Berkeley any day over China live!

Delicious Chinese food. Big mix of offerings. Our table was communal and next to the peking duck station. Star of the show was the off bone Pekin duck buns and the lettuce cups.

Terrible food. The #1 dumplings were doughy soft on top and rock hard on the bottom. The garlic noodles over powering. The vegetable fried rice bland. The chicken lettuce cups very salty. The waitress was VERY nice though so I feel bad for her. I do not understand why this place has so many good reviews. It was terrible.

China Live has definitely established itself as a well-known Asian restaurant in San Francisco. The food here definitely leans on the fusion side but you can still taste the more traditional roots in some of the dishes. I came here as part of a large group dinner for work and was really impressed by how well the restaurant was able to accommodate our size and needs. The staff was attentive and made the experience great! We ordered a little bit of everything, so you can’t go wrong with the options. The cocktail menu also nicely paired with the food. Id definitely come back but it is a little on the pricier side - though worth it if you haven’t been yet!

We had an wonderful experience at China Live this evening. Zeon, our server, was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was a pleasure to be served by him. Each of his recommended dishes were excellent. We especially enjoyed the smoked sea bass, seared filet mignon with snow peas and the sesame soft serve with mango shaved ice. We will be bringing our children soon and can’t wait to capture our granddaughter’s expression when she sees the fabulous dessert. It was such a delicious treat. Each dish was beautifully presented and prepared—artistic and creative.

Possibly the worst Chinese food I've ever had (esp. comparing with Hong Kong and Vancouver BC). We followed the waitperson's advice and ordered a few of the "signature dishes" - this turned out to be a bad idea. The "#1 Seller Famous Sheng Jian Bao 'SJB' Daily Made Pan-Fried Pork Dumplings" had stodgy skin and flavorless contents. (But the presentation was attractive and the ginger-infused vinegar was interesting) The "Hong Kong Wok-Fried Egg Noodles with Mushroom & Bok Choy" had 3 tiny pieces of Bok Choy and about the same number of pieces of mushroom (with a fair bit of chicken); and I've had crispier and less oily noodles. The less said about the "Three Styles Spicy Tofu Medley with Seasonal Veg", the better. We booked an early seating; as the place filled up, the noise level became so high that we could barely talk - and we were at the edge of the restaurant. On top of that, sales tax was calculated on top of the mandatory 20% "service charge". Pretty sure tax isn't payable on tips or service charge. The place is attractive, and makes one anticipate tasty food. Too bad it doesn't live up to its marketing.

Outstanding food, great service partially offset by super-loud environment and bogus fee. Thumbs up: - Every single dish was delicious! Intense flavors, perfect textures - Server was helpful and friendly Thumbs down: - Large capacity / large crowds + poor acoustics / lack of noise-dampening makes it difficult to converse with friends. - Additional and misleading charge for "SF Mandate." Admittedly many other SF restaurants unfortunately do this, too, but this separate charge is -- contrary to the name -- not mandated by the city to be charged separately. Responsible restaurants bundle this cost into menu prices, just as they do when the prices of meat or electricity or rent or *literally* any other business costs increase Vegetarian options: Lots of delicious veg optionsI Kid-friendliness: I think it'd be a bit hectic / overwhelmingly loud / expensive for kids Parking: Street parking is tough; consider using a parking app to pre-purchase a garage spot at a reasonable price

Cold, bland, whitewashed. If you're a yuppie without taste you'll love this spot. Otherwise run far away. Save your wallet, save the stress. Super expensive too and service so rude that they know they have to tack on an automatic 20 percent tip. Thia is a huge step down from the pet store that was located here before this heaping pile of Americanized garbage.

Someone in our party made a reservation for dinner at 8:30. When we arrived, there was a 10 minute wait at the host stand. We were then told "there are no tables inside so you sit outside." No discussion or anything, just walked us to some patio furniture outside in 40 degree weather. We obviously just left.
